Director of Philanthropy (Tallahassee)

Legal Services of North Florida is hiring a full-time Director of Philanthropy. This staff member is responsible for the oversight, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive fundraising program to secure significant financial resources from individuals, foundations, and others to support LSNF’s mission. This staff member manages all major gifts functions, including planned giving, donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and fundraising event coordination.

The Director of Philanthropy supervises the Development Assistant and other externs or volunteers supporting philanthropic programming. Along with LSNF’s Executive Director, the Director of Philanthropy supports the Board of Directors by staffing the Development Committee. The Director of Philanthropy will also work closely with the Communications and Pro Bono staff, as well as all LSNF staff as needed. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university (Master’s Degree preferred) nd a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising for a nonprofit organization. Project management, strong organizational skills, ability to set objectives, strong writing skills, and ability to motivate donors, volunteers, and philanthropic partners are key aptitudes for this position.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Comprehensive fringe benefits package includes paid holidays, paid vacation (which after two years, increases to four weeks per year), sick leave, and, after sixty days, fully paid health insurance for employee & dependent children, term life and disability insurance. Disaster Response Law Clerk (Tallahassee)

Legal Services of North Florida is hiring a law student intern to assist our attorneys in providing civil legal assistance to those affected by Hurricane Michael.  The Disaster Response Law Clerk will receive $15/hour and is expected to work part-time. Specific days and schedule can be discussed. Location is negotiable, with Tallahassee, Panama City, or Quincy preferred.

 

Responsibilities and duties include conducting legal research and writing; assisting the supervising attorney with client intake and other related interviews; case development and preparation; court appearances with supervising attorney; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Legal Services of North Florida is hiring four part-time law student interns to work with clients and assist our Attorneys working on Low Income Tax case work. These positions are designed for current law school students interested in advocating for vulnerable members of our community and working to assist those filing for stimulus funds. The part-time hours can be flexible and accommodate law school class schedules. Interns can work up to a max of 20 hours per week at $15 per hour. Position is available immediately in the Tallahassee office.
Responsibilities and duties include assisting the supervising attorney with client intake and other related interviews; conducting legal research and writing; working with clients directly over the phone and occasionally in person at the office; preparing filings and administrative forms; and educating the clients on the process.

Legal Services of North Florida is hiring a part-time law student intern to work with clients who have been impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. This position is designed for current law school students interested in advocating for vulnerable members of our community and working to assist those impacted financially by current crisis. The part-time hours can be flexible and accommodate law school class schedules. Interns can work up to a max of 20 hours per week at $15 per hour. Position is available immediately in the Tallahassee office.
Due to the increasing reliance on technology to communicate with federal, state, and local agencies, many low-income and vulnerable populations must rely on legal aid offices to facilitate their request for participation in benefit programs. This will not be a remote work position. This position will require working directly with clients, attorneys, and support staff in the office setting for a portion of the weekly hours. 
Responsibilities and duties include assisting the supervising attorney with client intake and other related interviews; assisting clients seeking assistance during pandemic; working with clients, attorneys, and support staff directly over the phone and in person at the office; preparing filings and administrative forms; and educating the clients on the process.
