LSNF Director of Litigation, Scott Manion, Receives Lifetime Professionalism Award

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) is honored to announce that one of our very own, Scott Manion, was recently selected as the winner of the Tallahassee Bar Association’s Lifetime Professionalism Award. Manion, Director of Litigation LSNF, received this award at the 24th Annual Tallahassee Bar Association (TBA) Chili Cookoff, where he was surrounded by friends, family, co-workers, and fans of his many accomplishments.

“It is wonderful to be recognized by my colleagues for doing something I genuinely enjoy,” says Manion, “I am humbled by the recognition from my peers and the Tallahassee Bar Association. I’ve been fortunate to work in legal services all these years and help so many people with their legal needs.”

The TBA Lifetime Professionalism Award is given annually to an attorney, judge, or law professor who has shown extraordinary professionalism and dedication to the legal profession and legal community. This award recognizes legal professionals that have served the community for 25 years or more through civil, community, or legal service.

Manion, who has served in legal aid for 44 years, began his legal journey as a Staff Attorney, Community Organizer, and Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) working in general litigation and tenants’ rights.

“Working with the judiciary, the Tallahassee Bar, my fellow lawyers, and especially my clients has been a pleasure and an honor,” says Manion.

In addition to representing underserved and vulnerable individuals throughout his career, Manion has been fighting for legal remedies to ongoing lapses in access to justice for these populations. Throughout his tenure as a legal professional, Manion has mentored young attorneys and law students, fostering more attorneys dedicated to serving their communities with passion and humanity.

“Scott works humbly, never seeking the limelight or accolades. He has a passion for helping people. We are so glad to see him recognized for all that he has contributed to the legal profession and community as a whole,” says LSNF Executive Director, Leslie Powell-Boudreaux.

His championing for better access to legal services, carries over into his incredible dedication to his clients, going above and beyond to ensure he plays a part in providing access to justice for all.
